The Action Cruise

Italy

Why Visit

The Action Cruise offers a unique Kite & Sail Camp experience, combining the thrill of kiteboarding with the adventure of sailing in stunning locations, including Greece, Sardinia, Corse, the Grenadines, and Antigua & Barbuda. You'll explore secluded kite spots, perform downwinders, and improve your kiting, wingfoiling, and sailing skills with solid kite teaching and coaching. This adventure is perfect for immersing yourself in nature and connecting with like-minded adventurers.

The Action Cruise visits unconventional and secluded spots. They kite in every condition, even when there is no wind since they move from spot to spot. They do downwinders between islands, and they kite in uncrowded spots.

In The Action Cruise Kite & Sail Camp, you will be trained on the following kite skills according to your kite level:

  • IKO safety standards and procedures
  • Different techniques on how to launch and land from a sailing boat
  • How to define a spot to be able to anchor and kite from the boat
  • Self-launching
  • Self landing
  • Self-rescue
  • Safety procedures to manage unconventional spots like onshore, offshore and tiny beaches
  • How to plan and run a downwind in the open sea
  • Safety procedures to rescue a kiter by the catamaran in open sea
  • Effective upwind body drag in very low or strong wind

Wind and Weather

The Action Cruise organises camps in regions known for their reliable wind conditions. In Greece, the Meltemi wind provides 15-30 knots of steady wind, which is ideal for kiteboarding from July to September. Sardinia benefits from the Mistral wind, offering 15-35 knots of powerful and consistent wind, especially between May and October. Both locations ensure plenty of windy days, but alternative activities are always available if the wind doesn't cooperate!

Getting Around

Participants are responsible for travel to and from the departure ports. Once on board, the 45’-50’ catamarans serve as your floating home and kitesurfing base, transporting you to various kite spots. Tenders are used for rescue and assistance during kite sessions. The catamarans provide spacious and comfortable accommodations.

Food and Drink

The Action Cruise provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner on board, ensuring you are well-fed throughout your adventure. Meals are prepared by the crew, offering a mix of local and international cuisine. While onboard meals are included, dinners on land are not, allowing you to explore local dining options at each port of call. Alcoholic beverages and additional meals or drinks on land are considered extras.

Nightlife

Nightlife varies depending on the location and itinerary. While onboard, evenings are often spent relaxing under the stars, sharing stories with fellow travellers, and enjoying the serene environment. In port, you can explore local bars and restaurants, experiencing each destination's vibrant nightlife and cultural offerings.

No Wind

On rare no-wind days, The Action Cruise ensures no shortage of activities! You can try wakefoiling, wakeboarding (for lighter riders), paddleboarding, hiking, or exploring the islands. The catamarans have SUP and wakefoil gear, ensuring you stay active even when the wind isn't blowing. Alternatively, you can relax, swim around the boat, or participate in media analysis sessions to review and improve your kiting techniques. They also run kite theoretical lessons.

Accommodation

Accommodation is provided on 45’-50’ catamarans, with options for solo or shared cabins with other people. The catamarans are spacious and equipped with all the amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. The crew members manage sailing and kiting activities and prepare meals, creating a hassle-free environment for you to enjoy your adventure.

There is a watermaker onboard, so a hot shower if available anytime and a gorgeous Fly Bridge where you can chill!

Internet

Internet access is generally available on board the catamarans, but the quality and availability may vary depending on the location. You should check specific internet access details for your chosen destination with The Action Cruise team. For those who need to stay connected, consider bringing a portable Wi-Fi device or checking local mobile data options.
