At A Glance
The Green Room, from German kitesurf manufacturer CORE, is an all-out big wave machine. Designed for those riders who seek only the best waves our planet has to offer, this is a dedicated board for dedicated riders.
The Green Room is made from a PU blank for that all-important flex and feel, with a glass coat for the classic surf feel. There is a double stringer in play for maximum strength and to control the longitudinal flex.
Tucked under rails release water with ease and a single concave hull provides grip in critical moments. The board features a round pin tail for maximum traction and control, and the thruster set up is in play for that looser feel through the turn. The board has strap inserts should you wish to use them, and comes supplied with a rear traction pad. We added a front pad, and there is also an optional centre pad for full deck coverage.

On The Water
The Green Room is one of those boards which won't suit everybody. We loved it though, it’s
super fast to ride, it shoots off and needs you to keep up. This is not a beginners’ board, and as such you do need some good technique to get the most out of it. It’s also a board that needs to be ridden at a dedicated wave spot too.
Upwind is okay but requires you to work, the lower volume of the board, which works brilliantly on the wave, makes the general riding feel a little laboured, this isn’t a stick to have at a bump and jump spot.
On the wave is a different story and that is what this board has 100% been designed to do. It shoots down the line with impressive stability and the small tail and thruster set up allow for some sharp cutting turns with an excellent release and feel throughout.
The speed can seem a little daunting at first; however the board is very stable, and once you have learnt to trust it, you are able to perform impressive turns in critical sections with incredible fluidity. The board excels every time out of the turn and allows you to get deep into the pocket.
Overall
With a gun like design, and consequently feel, the Green Room is a specialised board and excels in a sizable swell. The board rides fast and needs a rider to be able to keep ahead of the game to get the most out of it. A beautiful finish to the board, this will surely be the pride and joy of many advanced wave chasers.
