At A Glance
Anyone who gets in the water often knows the value of a good neoprene hoodie, and Mystic’s Haze Hoodie delivers everything you need to combat that extra winter windchill,l while looking good!
This 2mm layer is designed for practicality and can be worn over your wetsuit, making it an essential part of your cold-weather gear. The Haze is constructed from wind and water-resistant MX2 neoprene, providing a reliable barrier against the elements without feeling too bulky. I’ve previously tried other models that felt cumbersome while kiting and stopped using them because they generally felt so bulky that they didn’t feel very safe to wear in an emergency.
The adjustable hood includes a water drain, ensuring you stay comfortable even when conditions get rough. One of the standout details is the spreader bar hole, allowing you to wear it seamlessly while hooked into your harness.
In addition to its technical features, the hoodie is secured with an elastic waist strap to keep it in place during your session.
On the Water
From the moment I put on the Haze Hoodie over my wetsuit, I knew it would become a regular part of my kit! The lightweight 2mm neoprene added a very much welcomed layer of warmth without restricting movement, and the elastic waist strap kept it securely in place, even during my session. Even though it was December on the North Sea, the wind resistance was immediately noticeable, especially during a chilly early-morning session. The adjustable hood fits snugly, with the water drain proving its worth whenever it is choppy or raining. The spreader bar hole was perfectly positioned, making hooking in and out easy.
Overall
The Haze Hoodie is a no-brainer for anyone who spends time on or around the water in cooler conditions. It’s warm, windproof, and designed with thoughtful details, and it has become an essential piece of equipment for cooler sessions - Mystic nailed it with this one!
