On Friday 22nd November 2024, in Peru, WCKA students took on the challenge to see if they could collectively jump to the height of the stratosphere to raise donations for the World Class Kiteboard Academy scholarship fund and service learning project.
Who? Fifteen WCKA students
What? The challenge was to see if the WCKA team could jump in five relay teams to reach the height of the stratosphere in 90 minutes. The vertical feet traveled by each team was tracked by Five Woo Sports devices attached to kiteboards. The total heights were combined to calculate the overall height jumped by all fifteen students. The goal was for the team to jump a combined 30,000 ft.
Where? Paracas, Peru. In Quechua, Paracas refers to the sand that falls like rain during storms that hit the Paracas peninsula.
