In this tech talk, Airush Brand Manager Clinton Filen takes us through the ins and outs of the Session kite’s development, bridle system and durable technology, as well as the surfboard range and how each board serves its purpose with excellence. Check this out!
The Session Kite
It is a versatile kite that perfectly fits in the wave, strapless and freerides space because of its perfect drift, agile turning, & effortless boosting capability with a slightly higher aspect ratio than the Wave v9 for improved jumping but without compromising its wave riding performance.
This kite was developed with our surf & strapless team: Oswald Smith, Reider Decker, Gage Fitcher, and Charlie Wise, to ensure that it meets the demand of the surfing purist, while Spanish Champion, Kiko Torres, highlighted its potential for strapless.
From the kite designer: “The Session is designed to deliver smooth power and all-around high performance. The kite is ready for the rider wanting a versatile surf kite with added tweaks for performance freeride. Interchangeable fixed or pulley bridles lets you choose between more direct steering with an on-off power delivery or smooth and progressive gust response with light bar pressure. Either one you choose; your session is bound to be all time.” Mark Pattison

First up is the Cypher – Developed with Spanish strapless champion Kiko Torres. The parallel outline and square tail create a shape comfortable at high speed. This compact outline is ideal for throwing around or boosting. Suitable for high-speed strapless or strapped boosting machines.
Next is AMP – It is written in capital letters; that’s how amped we are about it! Developed with American Reider Decker to create a comfortable board for side shore, onshore and even some flatwater strapless freestyle. It has an all-around surf shape and a fast rocker with manoeuvre oriented outline.
Lastly is the Comp – The comp was developed with South African Oswald Smith and Australian Charlie Wise. It typically suits the requirements of their home conditions, ideal for down the line and faster waves. It has a high rocker with a narrow tail & offset strap option and is durable and flexible.
