What will he ride next?! In the latest episode of Court in the Act, Tom Court takes a new approach to wave riding. While most riders are looking for the highest performing surfboard on the market to really tear up the waves, Tom has chosen potentially one of the worst performers… and somehow managed to score the session of the day? Well, the video speaks for itself!
“I am calling a new trend in kite surfing… having been on Fuerteventura for over a few months now and seeing how many kooks there are shredding foamie’s in the surf… it came to me that how come this trend hasn’t hit kitesurfing yet and will it ever be a thing!?! How has the surfing industry moved so far away from performance boards, to using these terrible sticks to just have some ‘no pressure’ fun on terrible waves… not only that, these boards often cost the same as a regular surfboard!?! Well, I thought I would put the concept to the test in this video and take this catch surf beater out for a shred on some tiny waves for a bit of fun…
This is a twin fin setup, about 35 litres of low density foam, with a plastic bodyboard bottom and some terrible flexible fins to boot. I have to admit that this was a very fun session and I dont think that anyone else had as much fun on the water than me on this day!!”
