Lancing Kitesurfing Club presents the Duotone PIER 2 PIER Race – the longest and fastest kitesurfing race ever in the UK!
On Saturday 26th October 2019 – 150 kitesurfers will take on one of the watersport world’s greatest challenges. The inaugural race will run with world-class athletes on the same track as a club and local riders.
Kite racing will become an official Olympic sport at Paris in 2024 – and earned that prestigious position because a kite and hydrofoil board combination is truly the fastest and most efficient form of racing equipment that you’ll witness on the water! See exactly why this October close off the Sussex shoreline!
Racing through the start line at Worthing Pier, kiters will race more than 21 miles, taking in intermediate downwind buoys at Lancing, Shoreham and Hove before crossing the finish line at the iconic Palace Pier in Brighton. A spectacle, a race and a challenge like no other!
Taking inspiration from the amazing Sussex coastline, Lancing Kitesurfing Club aim to establish & run the Pier2Pier Race – the biggest kitesurfing downwind race of its kind in the UK and one of only a few events of its kind in the world.
For spectators and the general public, exhilarating vantage points on both Piers will make for extra special viewing plus close-up racing at Lancing (the Perch), Shoreham (Ferry Road) and Hove (Lagoon) as riders round race buoys just ten metres from the shore. Make sure you get outdoors to our wonderful shoreline and witness this event for yourselves!

Lancing Kitesurfing Club is the oldest kitesurfing club in the UK and is affiliated to the sports national governing body, the BKSA. We are celebrating our ten year anniversary in 2019. The club aims to help create a safe and competent kite community, maintain access and support kitesurfing training and coaching. LKSC HiGH FLiERS is our free power kite taster programme for young people, schools / groups and we have an active team of beach crew volunteers who have helped run successful events since 2013.
