Wild Families of Tiree 2018
Have you got kids? then you need to watch this! Jo Wilson just launched a new family-friendly coaching course and ran the first one in Tiree recently. If you wanted to go you had to have kids, this meant that parental time could be shared between kiting, coaching and childcare. As far as we know Jo is the first person to start to offer these types of holidays and we think it’s a fantastic idea. Combining family life and kitesurfing is what we are all about and I can’t tell you how proud we are at Jo Wilson Coaching to present you with this video highlighting our first full family-friendly kitesurfing holiday that we ran earlier this autumn (2018) on Tiree, Scotland. We could not be prouder because we had 4 families all with children under the age of 5 taking part.
The best thing about this trip was that the kitesurfing was just a bonus to the trip… we ran kitesurfing sessions on the beach from 9.30am – 5.30pm. The mornings were for one parent while the afternoons were for the other meanwhile on the beach the parent with the child had company while the children razzed around on bikes, climbing rocks, fishing in rock pools, cooking sausages on fires, splashing about with bodyboards and hunkering down in to each other’s vans with shared boxes of ‘van toys’. The trip was just truly epic with the kids running around from morning until night having the time of their lives…. and boy did they sleep well too! Meanwhile, the adults received more than enough kitesurfing coaching on the beach helping them to improve their level!

Tiree offers conditions then I described as adventurous, epic and memorable. There are beaches facing all directions ensuring you receive a good mix of fairly flat water and waves… it is also the sunniest British Isle, that being said you should most certainly bring your waterproofs! I don’t think there is a more active, natural, adventurous & healthy way to holiday with your children and I cannot wait to run this trip again next year.
