Ocean Rodeo’s latest GKA stop in Tarifa was a hard fought event

Both Carla Herrera and Reece Myerscough came in with the same expectations of jumping up the standings and gaining some ground on the top athletes.

Reece was heading into Tarifa with a swing of momentum and poise to be able to jump up in the standings. Carla was on the precipice of a top three spot, and with a women’s event in Tarifa underway and both Moona Whyte and Jalou Langeree not attending this event, Carla was in a moment of opportunity.

Reece battled hard and was able to get through to the third heat where he was head to head with third seed Matchu Lopes where a close heat and a narrow loss had Reece jump up to 12th in the overall standings.

Carla Brings It Home

Carla took to her home turf in Tarifa on a mission. With her new board built in cooperation with Limit Waves and her full quiver of Prodigies and Roams, Carla made sure that she brought this championship home, and in doing so securing her new spot at the top of the GKA rankings as the current world number one.
