The ION Composite Series, new for 2018, has arrived. This new harness line strikes a balance between support and flex. Three models — CS Hadlow, CS Wave, CS Freeride — provide varying levels of support so that each rider can find a harness that suits his preference and riding style. ION has created a whole new generation of kitesurfing harnesses: The ION Composite Series! Based on the 2017 Team Series, a new and unique composite construction combines stiff and flexible materials in a new shape concept, providing the perfect combination of support and freedom of movement. For the first time, a flexible hardshell supports the center back of the rider, providing a perfectly stiff fit and 100% back support. It guarantees a perfect load distribution due to the new Monocoque Carbon-Blade Technology. Flexible, foamy side parts and a concave High-Performance Preshape give maximum comfort around the waist due to the hyper foam cushion and therefore providing an individual anatomic fitting. The new Monocoque Carbon Technology is adapted to the needs of every individual discipline and is available in three different models.
CS HADLOW
Developed in collaboration with world-class freestyle pro Aaron Hadlow, this harness suits performance oriented freestylers looking for a direct and radical riding experience.
Composite Shape
The CS Hadlow is the stiffest model of the of the range due to its extremely strong composite construction. The reduced foam and a thinner cut allow for enhanced freedom of movement and an even force distribution, meaning outstanding back support. The smaller carbon shell at the back means softer side-parts and a direct power transmission from the kite to the body.
Inside EVA
The reduced height of the side-parts allows for maximum freedom of movement. The inside EVA Waist Lock construction covers the entire inside and stops the harness from riding up. This pre-shaped molded soft EVA shape stands for optimised comfort.
Lightweight and less water absorption
A high carbon content, reduced materials and the new no-water absorbing hyper foam provides an overall lighter weight harness, even when wet.
C-Bar
Fiber reinforced injection material with a modular, exchangeable metal hook introduces a new technology: The new tension lever tightens the harness without changing the buckle settings. Straps only need adjusting once and then simply lock and go!

Composite Shape
Flexible hardshell keeps its promise: the center part is divided into three individual composite segments, meaning the material between the composite segments can flex vertically – therefore keeping the CS Wave the softest model of the range – while evenly distributing forces horizontally. The reduced foam and a thinner cut allow for highest freedom of movement and an even force distribution meaning outstanding back support.
Downforce and Inside Silicon Print
The neoprene and silicon print on the entire inner harness enables twisting movement but prevents the harness from riding up.

The CS Freeride has a stabilizing and comfortable composite brace along the sides of the harness and a higher cut. The extremely strong composite construction gives outstanding back support while keeping the side-parts flexible. The higher amount of carbon at the sides allows for an overall higher, stiffer harness design intended for your everyday freeride session.

The inside silicon print and the partial EVA Waist Lock construction stands for a harness that stays where it‘s supposed to, on your waist. The pre-shaped molded soft EVA shape provides optimized comfort.
