Unless you’ve been living under a rock lately you will have heard of the WOO kiteboarding tracker, we’ve just taken delivery of some for the IKSURFMAG Team and we are pretty excited! Naturally of course since they showed up a week ago there has not been a breath of wind to get them on the water and test them out, so that will be coming just as soon as we get a puff of breeze!

The WOO is aimed at tracking your jumps, it doesn’t have GPS inside but instead has some accelerometers and some very clever algorithms to work out when you take off and then when you land and the speed of your accent. They were launched in South Africa last year, and used at the King Of The Air event too. Feedback so far has been really positive and these little devices look set to gamify kitesurfing.

WOO is set to be a game changer!

Tiny but mighty!

No longer will you be worrying whether you can jump higher than your mates, as you’ll be able to see exactly how high you are jumping, and thanks to the WOO App (now available on Android too) you can have battles between the riders at your local spot, your friends and even the entire WOO community! We can see these things bringing a bit of a buzz to the kiting scene as the winter storms roll in towards Northern Europe over the next few months. We’ve certainly been dusting down our twin tips and digging out the best jumping kit we can find. All we need is some wind!

Simple operation, just turn it on and off you go!

Check out http://www.woosports.com for more information and as soon as the wind blows we’ll get them tested!
