Ozone’s kite designer and all-round paragliding legend Rob Whittall talks us through their newly revised Access snowkite.

The Access is Ozone’s entry level depower foil kite and it has been designed to get you up and running as quickly and safely in any conditions. New for 2015 they’ve added an Internal Re-Ride safety System that makes the Access the ideal choice for new snowkiters, allow2ing you to kill the power and relaunch your kite in an instant.

Rock solid in-flight stability makes the Access suitable for any kiter right from their first session. A huge depower range and plenty of low-end power have helped make the Access the first choice of many snowkite schools around the globe. The design of this already classic kite has more stability even at low angles of attack due to a specifically created profile. The progressive arc means that the kite is rock solid in the air but still has a quick turning speed and responsive bar feeling. The low aspect ratio ensures stability in the gustiest of conditions but still delivers constant power and progressive pull.

Even though the Access was originally developed for teaching and entry level riders it has become a favorite for experienced riders who require ultra stability in turbulent high mountain conditions. Most of our International team riders keep a 4m or a 6m in their quiver and would not be caught without it for those trips to the mountains. The Access has also been a favorite for expeditions where it is essential to have safe and easy to use kites in extreme conditions.

The Access is available as a Kite Only option that comes with our all new Kompressor Bag, or Kite Complete with the Contact-Snow Control System and technical mountain Backpack. We recommend adding the Kompressor Bag to the kite complete option to have your kite packed and secured as small as possible.
