Jose Luengo Wins the Master Of The Ocean 2012
The 10th Anniversary Master Of The Ocean competition was won by Jose Luengo. As the only competition of its kind, Master of the Ocean challenges the most skilled Surfers, Windsurfers, Kitesurfers and SUP surfers with 5 days of extreme water skills and showcases the best of the Caribbean-Cabarete-Northshore-of the Dominican Republic.
Here’s Jose impression about the competition:
“It was really difficult, the competition combines four disciplines – it’s the ultimate test of how versatile rider you are. Since 4 months I was training specifically for this competition, each day I was focused on a different discipline plus physical training to be skilled enough to compete for 10 hours non-stop during 3 days of the event.
I was competing against really strong athletes including Luciano Goznalez, Tony Garcia and Emanual Rondon. I did really good in kitesurfing and SUP (I won both disciplines), in surf I was 4th and windsurfing I finished on 7th position. It gave me overall 1st position. I was using T5- Koinobori 10m2 and N62 7m2 – a perfect setup for winds between 15 and 20 Knots”.
