“The Carve now flies faster, generating more power and board speed. It rockets upwind. Experienced riders will benefit from the kite’s impressive power and efficiency, while intermediate riders will find it offers a smoother, more user-friendly ride. Freeride and Strapless Freestylers will love the improved hangtime and catch for kite loops and softer landings.” – Kite Designer Dano See
For 2023, North has put the Carve back into its wave riding category. Refined bridling for a longer, more progressive travel means the kite feels smoother and more responsive throughout the full depower range. It is still reactive when you sheet out – to the very end.
“When surfing, it just glides down the line, waiting for your bar input. You have more intuitive control – especially when the kite’s not visible while doing a big bottom turn, cut back or you’re in a barrel. This means you can focus 100% on the surf.” – Brand Director Mike Raper
The Carve ‘23 has a slightly reduced leading-edge diameter and thinned-out profiles. This gives the kite smoother power delivery, improves the high-end wind range, and helps you ride deeper in the pocket for longer. The kite won’t pull you aggressively off the rail, and you’ll have softer landings when doing big jumps.
The 2023 Carve will also relaunch faster in critical situations. Introducing lighter bladders in all sizes and a lighter 2-ply canopy reinforcement reduces weight and helps improve the turning speed in light wind while maintaining the Carve’s surf-tough durability.

NEW Cross | Freeride Surfboard
A smooth carving, super comfortable all-round freeride board blends the line effortlessly between surf and strapless freestyle. Lively and responsive, with effortless acceleration and drive off the rail, the Cross was created to shred the waves in an ever-changing surf playground, ride real-world onshore conditions, flatwater and chop. It provides generous volume and width for a fun, forgiving ride, great upwind speed, and solid pop for freestyle tricks. Featuring grabbable rails on the top deck for easy air-handling and cushy contoured deck pads for enhanced control. It carves, it jumps, it pops. With or without straps, the Cross is your everyday go-to and one-board quiver. The ultimate all-rounder, instantly familiar, intuitive and easy to ride.
“The Cross is like an old friend” – Jesse Richman
Board Designer Jaimie Scott and the team have engineered the 2023 Cross in a new durable EcoLite Impact Resistant Bamboo construction. The Cross has an all-new surf outline with reduced nose and tail width, which provides a better wave fit for easier, sharper turns and improved control at the top end. They’ve refined the shape with a low-entry rocker to aid acceleration and drive, while more forgiving rounded surf rails provide a responsive feel with a locked-in grip.

Charge | Performance Surfboard
Refined in 2023 for improved response, speed and drive, the new Charge delivers an even smoother, more powerful ride with a positive feel and more radical turns.
“Feedback from riders charging some of the world’s biggest waves led to us making very slight refinements to the shape to improve the handling at speed and drive through the turns. We’ve moved the broad point of the board slightly forward and increased the concave under the front foot. We’ve also reshaped the rounded surf rails to be lower and more refined, giving the board more grip when you’re carving the wave face.” – Board Designer Jaimie Scott
A fast, dedicated surf shape with smooth turning and loads of projection, allowing a powerful vertical attack in down-the-line waves. Developed for surfing and engineered for kitesurfing, the Charge rides like a high-performance surfboard. Turning hard in the pocket and releasing on demand, it excels in carving, has a fantastic upwind drive for onshore riding, and is versatile enough to easily pop strapless freestyle tricks. The Carbon Innegra Futurelite system maximises strength without losing flex or responsiveness. The full deck grip with front and rear kicks provide exceptional comfort and control. Commit to the wave and have the confidence to charge.
For 2022 the Charge has a slightly narrower width overall and finer, low volume rails, more concave forward of the front foot and slightly retuned fin angles for smoother, tighter turns.

Comp | Strapless Freestyle Surfboard
Half the volume. Double the performance. Our new Dynalite hybrid carbon board delivers dedicated strapless freestyle performance with explosive pop. Thinner, more durable and even more responsive for 2022, this ultra-light, the low-volume shape has evolved to help you execute your most impressive tricks in every condition. Compact in size and very grabbable, we’ve designed the Comp to stick with you through every manoeuvre and pop on demand. Higher jumps. Cleaner landings. New fast-release tail channels aid grip and control when launching freestyle tricks. The new full-length longitudinal bottom channel with centreline-V and smooth, progressive rocker design combines to reduce bounce on hard, fast landings – making strapless landings easier to stick. Push beyond your limits with the Comp, your competitive edge
“Its thin profile and lighter weight make handling in the air so much easier. It also makes the board less buoyant on the water, which means softer landings that are easier on your body, because there is less counter force on landings. How does it ride? Like a strapless twintip. It can’t get much better than that.” – Engineer Uli Sommerlatt
