Shinn, the brand brought to you by the only person on the planet to win two World Titles from two World Tours in the same year, have just released their first drop of 2016 goodness. Mark Shinn and the team are launching 4 boards for the autumn to keep you fired up on the water. Three boards get a make over as well as tweaks to the design, perhaps more exciting though is the addition of a totally new board for women. The Monkette!
Because we are traditionalists we’ll start with the ladies first, we have a huge fan base of women out there so guys please bear with us, or perhaps read about what you should be putting in your better halves stocking this season! The Monk has been in the range for some time, the Monkette is the ladies version and it is aimed at the discerning women out there seeking performance and a smooth ride.
It’s aimed at the rider who likes to do a bit of everything, just like it’s brother it can boost to the moon and also provide a stable platform for all the latest freestyle moves. Shinn say the board offers outstanding grip and fantastic pop whilst still being buttery smooth through the chop! It’s available in 3 sizes, a 127 x 38, a 129 x 39 and a 131 x 40, built with a wood core the board comes with a two-year warranty.
Next up are three boards that get a 2016 makeover along with some tweaks. The popular ADHD, a freestyle, wakestyle and cable-orientated board gets even more pop for the coming season along with even more control. Designed for straps and boot riders alike this is the go to board in the range for flat out kite low freestyle trickery. It’s also for people who like Rum; we might get one to put on the wall of the office!The Monk is one of the most popular boards in the Shinn range, it’s been around for a while now and would you believe this is it’s 6 incarnation! This season it has been dubbed The One and if you want a high performance freeride board that can also perform all the latest freestyle moves with aplomb this is it. The chop handling is near legendary and pound for pound this board offers on of the best performance to comfort ratios on the market. There is a reason it is so popular after all!
Lastly we have the new Ultrasonic Diamond, a high-end freestyle shape for riders looking to progress. With a constant curve rocker, HydroFlo 2 tip channels and a medium to firm flex this board offers an excellent platform for progression. You’ll find yourself wanting to push the limits and being rewarded with heaps of pop and smooth landings.
