2014 C4 – it does it in everything

“I’ve been fortunate to have spent some serious time on the C4 over the last year. My first few experiences this time last year on the 2013 model were in some of the fiercest conditions I’ve ever experienced at home on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland – some of you may remember “Storm Zone” posted about this time last year. Although this was not the most ideal situation to be trying out an unfamiliar kite for the first time, it was however, a huge testament to the kite. Not only did it get me through the session safely, I was actually able to get comfortable with the kite despite the conditions.

What a change up it has been this year with the 2014 model C4. The Sunshine Coast has, unlike this time last year, been blessed with absolutely perfect conditions. I’ve been able to have some amazing sessions on the new C4s at my favourite local spots – mainly Caloundra and Maroochydore Rivermouths. The changes and innovations that have been integrated into this year’s model are subtle, yes, but noticeable nonetheless. Somehow Rob and Torrin have managed to squeeze in even more explosive pop and an all around smoother kite feel. I always say it but you truly know a good kite when you use one. Over these last few months I’ve really been frothing on my kiting, and not just on wakestyle – I’ve been doing a few downwinders on my surfboard and although the C4 is obviously not in the same league as the Reo in the waves, it definitely holds its own.

As the last two generations have proven to me, the C4 can perform in anything; from perfect conditions all the way up to conditions you’re hardly ever likely to experience. And although it’s obviously tailored for aggressive wakestyle and freestyle riding, it definitely holds its own in all styles… well, maybe not racing, get an Edge for that haha.

I can’t really say much else about the 2014 C4. Experiencing the C4 firsthand is way more powerful than any words I can write. I will however, leave you with this – the 2014 C4 is the best kite I’ve ever used.”
