At A Glance

Now in its second year, the Wainman Hawaii Cruzer is only going to build on its initial success. And with the likes of Forest Bakker, Wainman Hawaii Pro Rider, claiming it as his “board of choice” it’s bound to gather even more admirers.

The 2016 model brings a funky new graphic featuring skateboard trucks under the board, something you don’t see often and definitely makes the board stand out! Along with this, Wainman have made it even lighter adding to its already high performance.

The pads & footstraps are super comfy, and the board can be ridden with boots too of course. With four inserts, there’s loads of adjustments possible to get the set up perfect. The board comes with single deck contouring, this is an all-new construction (wood/PVC/airex foam) to ensure maximum durability and gives the board an optimal flex, with a smooth and easy-riding feel.

On The Water

The Cruzer, as the name suggests, is the perfect board for cruising your local spot. Better than that though, is that it does a whole lot more, it can take you from your first jumps right the way to high-performance freestyle.

We rode this board mostly in choppy waters and found it to be incredibly comfortable. It’s got a decent amount of flex which makes it a pleasure to ride in waters that other boards might fail in. Anyone who’s got dodgy knees after too many hard landings will appreciate how comfy this board is!

Fortunately, it maintains that explosive pop element needed to take your riding to the next level, meaning that it’s great for boosting or practicing your next unhooked maneuver. The medium rocker in the board allows for fairly forgiving landings - maybe not as forgiving as the Joke, but what the Cruzer has over the Joke is that it goes upwind really well for a board with this much rocker. Even in light winds, we found the board to track upwind with great ease, helping us get away from the crowds!

Overall

When Wainman Hawaii say ‘all round freestyle/freeride board’ they mean it. This board ticks all the boxes if you are looking for a one-board quiver. It’ll take you from your first boards starts to effortless upwind riding and onto advanced freestyle tricks. Make sure you try one to see for yourself.
