North Kiteboarding discovers a higher-than-normal warranty rate in 2023 Orbit (8m, 9m, 10m and 11m) and replaces all affected 2023 Orbit kites free of charge. If you have a 2023 Orbit Kite, please take note of the serial number and visit the North website here to find out if it is one of the affected kites.

“We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause people. As a premium brand, we take warranties seriously and put our riders’ (customers’) safety first. The majority of kites do not have any issues. However, we recently identified a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims on a specific production batch of 2023 Orbits. We traced this to an inconsistency in the inflated structure material on affected kites, which has caused the leading edge to burst in a small number of kites (usually upon first or subsequent inflation). Please be assured that the material inconsistency was limited to a very small number of kites, and we are confident the failure rate is extremely low. We have identified and eliminated the material inconsistency to prevent this issue from reoccurring.” – Brand Director Mike Raper

To find out if your Orbit is one of the affected kites, please follow the instructions below. If affected, please get in touch with your North retailer immediately to arrange for a free replacement kite. If you have friends with an Orbit kite, please share this information with them.
